Transfer Requirements Levels B-G (Grades 1-7 respectively)
Transfer students entering the program for the first time at a level higher than Level A will be assessed for readiness prior to being offered a placement.
Except in the area of cursive handwriting, students will not be required to do catch up work prior to placement, but rather will be offered placement in the level that best matches their current academic needs. Prior to placement, the student must demonstrate readiness in both language arts and math. If a student is proficient in one subject but not the other, they will be offered a seat in the level that matches their lowest assessed level. For example, if a student tests ready for Level E in math but Level D in Language Arts, they will be offered a place in Level D.
Proficiency in cursive handwriting is expected at Level D and above. If a student is otherwise ready for a level but cannot yet write fluently in cursive, they will be offered practice work to complete prior to the start of school.
Logic Level Prerequisites (Grades 7-8 respectively)
Incoming students must be academically ready to take Wilson Hill Academy Math 6 or Pre-algebra and Wilson Hill Academy Language Arts 3 or 4. Students who are 12 but not yet academically ready for Wilson Hill courses may enroll in Level G.
Rhetoric Level Prerequisites (Grades 9-12)
New students (those not currently rising from the Logic program) must have successfully managed at least two Wilson Hill Academy (or similar classical, online school) classes in the previous school year prior to admission in the Rhetoric program. Alternately, students who have not yet successfully managed at least two Wilson Hill courses must be enrolled in the minimum number of Wilson Hill courses for the Fall that admission is sought. Students must attend these classes from home, with parent support, for a minimum of eight weeks and up to one full school year, until successful management of the coursework is demonstrated.
